Blithe Blouses

Have you shopped yet for this season? Or are you still going to make most out of what you already have in your closet? Well, in our opinion you can do both. Shop a little and make it work with your old stuff. This season what’s making news on the fashion scene are blouses and toppers. There are so many new and really cute styles that are sure to make you want to shop shop and shop. From frills to lace, ruffles bows, sheer fabrics, it’s a pretty girly palette. There are all kinds of wonderful prints, from soft floral to ethnic prints, lots of paisley reminiscent of the 1970’s. You can find lots of cap sleeves, and sleeveless blouses that have already hit the racks. Then there are these romantic blouses in country style that is sure to entice you. There are lots of choices; you just need to know what to wear with what.

Frilly blouses: if you already have frilly blouses from last season’s then you don’t really need to shop for frilly blouses. However there are slight modifications and new cuts. Frilly blouses can be paired with your trusted fitting denims and minimalistic wedges. Since there are already so many detailing on the blouse, make sure you choose a basis pair of pants and shoes.

Stripes: Make way for stripes as striped top are one huge trend of the season. The classic boat neck three quarter length sleeve is a must have. Striped tops can be worn with business suits, and layered into dresses. Add a stripe top to lend a trendy look into any outfit.

Printed blouses: They are all the rage this season. From country style to swing to spaghetti style, printed blouses are here to emphasize elegant simplicity. Pair with a sleek suit or trusty pair of weekend jeans for a more grounded look. Otherwise printed blouses can also be paired with shorts and skirts for a casual outlook.

Lacy blouse: Make a statement with lacy blouses without actually having anything to say. They are highly sophisticated and currently making it huge in the fashion scenario.  Wear lacy blouses with pencil skirts, classic-cut trousers and tight denims.

Spaghetti strap blouse: Very trendy and super versatile. Strappy tops can remind you that fashion is fun. Playful yet refined, strappy blouse can go dressy when paired with a pencil skirt and pointed heels. Otherwise team them with shorts or denims for a stylish laidback look.

The Peplum Parade

Peplums are still in rage this season. They are spotted on runways, red carpets, everywhere fashionable. From bright colours to off-beats, they are making it huge this summer.

Peplums are one of the most flattering trends in the fashion industry and it is a trend that will never wear off. Peplums add a polish look and compliments curves, hides hips and thighs and clenches in the waist, peplums does wonder to any body type.  They give you an instant hourglass figure.  Peplums are ladylike and chic, obsequiously sophisticated and it’s one of the trend that has a real staying power.  They are so versatile that they can be dressed up or dressed down.

There are so many ways to wear this trend.  Here are a few.

Bright peplum top paired with black tight pants: This combination would give a very raw sex-appeal and an instant bold and chic outlook. Try skin-tight leather pants and a bright pink peplum top for a more edgy look. For a daring ready-to-go-out-there look, team up with ankle biker booties and to sport a more sophisticated appeal, pointed-toe pumps would be a good match.  If you have a glamorous event to attend to, this look would be perfect.

Printed peplum top paired with a pencil skirt: This is sure to make you look all Victorian and Mary poppins-ish. Opt for shorter skirt if you want to keep it little fun and flirty. For the footwear, platform pumps work wonder with this combo. For occasions like a date or social gathering or parties, adorn an off-shoulder peplum top with a tight mini skirt and sky-high platforms.  And for work wear, a basic printed peplum top paired with a pencil skirt and medium heels would do.

Peplum Dress paired with platform pumps: This ensemble is perfect for a cocktail party or any trendy social gathering. It’s effortlessly chic, highly sophisticated and very feminine. What’s best, it flatters any body type and gives an hourglass figure. Choose from an array of dresses. There are bright coloured dresses with bold cuts and printed ones that give you a retro feel. Pick what suits you best or pick them all.

Bright shade peplum skirts paired with a basic blouse: Bright hue skirts combined with printed blouse make for an eye-catching look that goes beyond the basics. You can add some black ankle booties and a statement cuff to complete the vibrant peplum-based look.

Reminscing The Rose

God gave us our memories so that we might have roses in December- J. M. Barrie.

And just like that we’ve had such memories translated into fashionable concepts, so that we might have roses at any time of the year! Undoubtedly, the rose flower has from time immemorial earned the favorite spot with many women. The colours that can be associated to a rose are multifarious which absolutely justifies its relevance to clothing.

Just think of the possibilities that a rose has to offer. There’s white and there’s black. And there are all the colours between that. Colourfully speaking, you could wear anything and fit into the ‘rosy picture’.

However, when we’re speaking of such a broad spectrum of hues, tints and shades, fitting into the theme might not be easy. There’s always the task of getting the look right. Also, setting aside the classics, what hues to choose is a fashion conscious decision to make.

Wear Withered Rose- A deeper hue that tilts towards a smoky purple, this colour will look different and complements all complexions. A sheer top or coloured denims in this hue is ‘rosy’, not obvious.

Print Porcelain Rose- Oversized and washed out rose prints are a flamboyant way to flaunt the trend. Prints in this bubbly colour are cheerful and perfect for spring. Opt for a top with oversized rose print or denims with a washed out print for a blithe and fun look.

Smear Salmon Rose- This girly and mirthful colour is perfect for makeup. A lip colour, gloss or matte nail paint is just what you need. Keep the whole look nude and basic to get this look right.

Carry Coral Rose- Accessories in this colour are an interesting way to portray your flowery mood. Flower embellished head accessories are pretty and minimal. You can don garbs in neutrals and accessorize with this lively colour for a fresh appeal.

Even if you wish to dress up in a monochrome look, you can celebrate the favorite flower. Keep these colours in mind this Spring/Summer and you’re certainly in for a rose revival!
