Reminscing The Rose

God gave us our memories so that we might have roses in December- J. M. Barrie.

And just like that we’ve had such memories translated into fashionable concepts, so that we might have roses at any time of the year! Undoubtedly, the rose flower has from time immemorial earned the favorite spot with many women. The colours that can be associated to a rose are multifarious which absolutely justifies its relevance to clothing.

Just think of the possibilities that a rose has to offer. There’s white and there’s black. And there are all the colours between that. Colourfully speaking, you could wear anything and fit into the ‘rosy picture’.

However, when we’re speaking of such a broad spectrum of hues, tints and shades, fitting into the theme might not be easy. There’s always the task of getting the look right. Also, setting aside the classics, what hues to choose is a fashion conscious decision to make.

Wear Withered Rose- A deeper hue that tilts towards a smoky purple, this colour will look different and complements all complexions. A sheer top or coloured denims in this hue is ‘rosy’, not obvious.

Print Porcelain Rose- Oversized and washed out rose prints are a flamboyant way to flaunt the trend. Prints in this bubbly colour are cheerful and perfect for spring. Opt for a top with oversized rose print or denims with a washed out print for a blithe and fun look.

Smear Salmon Rose- This girly and mirthful colour is perfect for makeup. A lip colour, gloss or matte nail paint is just what you need. Keep the whole look nude and basic to get this look right.

Carry Coral Rose- Accessories in this colour are an interesting way to portray your flowery mood. Flower embellished head accessories are pretty and minimal. You can don garbs in neutrals and accessorize with this lively colour for a fresh appeal.

Even if you wish to dress up in a monochrome look, you can celebrate the favorite flower. Keep these colours in mind this Spring/Summer and you’re certainly in for a rose revival!

Call The Shorts!

For every girl spending a day out with friends, dawdling at home, attending college or going out to party, one garment is such, which she will never let go. Damsels love shorts, for they disclose yet disguise and are chic yet comfortable. And once a pair of shorts becomes a girl’s beloved, its style longevity inevitably increases.

Another characteristic that makes shorts a favorite is the fact, that pretty much like classic denims, shorts never go out of style. The spring/summer 2013 runway saw designers like Alexander Wang, Suno, Tory Burch and Chloe bring new interpretations of shorts in interesting fabrics, prints and silhouettes. This all round garment can be experimented to suit completely different occasions.

Pleats and Prints- Printed shorts with slight gathers or pleats at the waist give the appeal of a skirt and convey a fun character. Instead of opting for the fitted ones go for floaty fabrics and delicate prints to explore the atypical.

Laced with Love- Tiered lace shorts are a rage this season. To try out something flamboyant but maintain the simplicity opt for lace shorts in neutrals like white, cream, gray and black. Pair these shorts with tops in breezy fabrics for a dainty and chic semblance.

Dependable Denim- Always preserve those classic denim shorts for each time you can’t think of what to wear. On a casual day out with friends a pair of basic denim shorts will always be there for you. Also, it’s the most easily available piece of clothing. Just pull out your old denims and get creative !

Flock together a few for casual and party clothing and bring a bracing change to your wardrobe. In differing lengths, kerfs and prints, shorts will successively return to the runway.  So, you’ll never have to bother about weeding them out Seasons come and seasons go, but shorts hang on forever.
